True Worshipper

This post is just my random thoughts... (truly personal opinion...)

As some of you know....I have been leading worship in different places...in church, in ywam, some other Christian gatherings..(if they asked me to) I started to pondering over the life of worship leader... Especially now that I'm sought of person in-charge of Worship ministry in my Youth church. I even have a deeper thoughts on what it means to be a worship leader....these are some of those thoughts...

God is looking for those people who will worship Him in Spirit & in Truth. (John 4:23-24) that simply mean....worshipping God must engaging with the Holy Spirit of God, He is the director of worship....neither the pastor nor worship leader but the Holy Spirit Himself is the one who lead us in worship the Almighty God.

I love what Chris Tomlin called himself in church...(he is a worship pastor of the church in Austin, TX) He is a lead worshipper not a worship leader....so true....when we lead worship, we ourselves need to be in the place of worship first...as the Holy spirit leads you, then you usher the congregation to join you enter into His court.

I learn to develop my worship lifestyle by just spend sometime everyday (if possible) to just be alone with God reading scriptures, grab my guitar and play some songs, just to worship Him..(it may not necessary to use guitar or any instrument at all...just worship the Lord as who you really are..) Also be watchful in all my being...my attitude towards people, etc....cuz' worship isn't just about music but it's all about our whole being...live our lives to glorify God!!! dwell in his presence at all time...

The more you learn to be in the presence of God, then you're able to usher others into His presence.... it's really about our relationship with the Father.... i remember one time when Tamara Winslow was on the keyboard and just start singing some unfamiliar song....suddenly i just fall flat!! couldn't contain....the strong Presence of God just fall in that place....it's amazing...

Another point beside worshipping in the spirit is to be in the Truth of God....

Knowing the truth is somewhat really missing in our churches today....many of people who named themselves Christian aren't really know or understand what Christianity is all about... Who is Jesus? What about His character...??? Many Christians hardly know....It really sad but true....even myself, it takes me till the 6th year of my walk with God that I truly found the understanding of who God is and that I can have a deeper intimacy with Him if I will...the more I learn about the truth of God, my perspective about life changes...and it express out in the way I live my life for Him. When you experience what it means that God is good...whenever you sing the song that talks about the goodness of God it will indeed so real in your life...and that makes your worship become a real expression of your heart to God.

I remember, just listening to the song called "It is well with my soul" by Brenton brown, I suddenly just start crying...all my hard time memories just recalled back to my mind...and i found it's true that "whatever my lots, You've thought me to know...it is well, it is well with my soul!!" Praise God! "Your yoke is easy, Your yoke is light" =)

I love singing, that's why I enjoy singing to God, i started do some song writing couple years ago...it mainly just help me to express my response to God in worship.....and hopefully somehow it will be a blessing to other people as well... i haven't really get any song done in proper recording yet...so hopefully will be a chance to share with you all soon...bear with a perfectionist like me haha.... =D

Yepz...Worship leading is never about us.....the limelight it should and MUST always be on God who we sing praise to....Cuz' all the glory are worthy of Him who is GREAT, MIGHTY and AWESOME!! there's no other but GOD is worthy to be praised.....AMEN!!

We are all learning....let's learn together...
Blessed.
Your lead worshipper...

No eye has seen, No ear has heard and No mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.

Be led by the Spirit. :)
